🔬 Quality & Testing Standards 8 Questions
How should researchers verify testing for a product or lot?+

Testing scope and results are lot-specific. Available methods, laboratory information, specifications, results, and release status are stated in the corresponding documentation. Purity does not by itself establish compound identity, sterility, safety, efficacy, or suitability for human or veterinary use.

How should purity and identity information be interpreted?+

Testing scope and results are lot-specific. Available methods, laboratory information, specifications, results, and release status are stated in the corresponding documentation. Purity does not by itself establish compound identity, sterility, safety, efficacy, or suitability for human or veterinary use.

What does HPLC documentation show?+

HPLC can report chromatographic purity under the stated method and conditions. It does not by itself establish identity, sterility, safety, efficacy, or suitability for human or veterinary use. Review the applicable lot documentation for the methods, laboratory information, specifications, results, and release status actually reported.

How does LC-MS confirm compound identity?+
How does LC-MS identity confirmation work?+

LC-MS (Liquid Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry) confirms compound identity by measuring the observed molecular mass of the compound and comparing it to the theoretical molecular weight calculated from the amino acid sequence. Agreement between observed and theoretical mass within instrument tolerance (typically ±0.5 Da) confirms that the compound has the correct primary sequence.

This is critical because two peptides can appear identical by HPLC purity percentage yet have entirely different sequences — for example, a scrambled sequence or deletion mutant. LC-MS identity confirmation catches these errors that HPLC alone cannot detect. Our COAs document both the theoretical MW and the observed MS result for every tested batch.

Are peptides tested for endotoxins or sterility?+

Testing scope is lot-specific. Endotoxin or sterility status is reported only when the released lot documentation includes that assay; absence of a result is not evidence that testing occurred.

How is lot traceability documented?+
What does “batch-specific COA” mean and why is it important?+

Released lots are tracked by an internal lot identifier across receiving, documentation review, the written release decision, and order allocation.

How are research peptides synthesized?+

Research peptides are synthesized using Solid-Phase Peptide Synthesis (SPPS), the standard method for producing defined amino acid sequences at laboratory and commercial scale. In SPPS, amino acids are added sequentially to a resin-bound growing chain using protected amino acid building blocks. After synthesis is complete, the peptide is cleaved from the resin, deprotected, and purified by HPLC to remove deletion sequences, truncations, and synthesis impurities.

The final purified peptide is then characterized by analytical HPLC and LC-MS before lyophilization (freeze-drying). Lyophilization removes solvent and produces a stable dry powder that is significantly more stable than peptide solutions for long-term storage and shipping.

Can I request a COA before purchasing?+

Approved research accounts may request available lot documentation before ordering. Documents are provided only for released material and only when the corresponding record exists.

❄️ Storage & Handling 3 Questions
How should research peptides be stored?+

Storage recommendations for lyophilized (freeze-dried) research peptides:

  • Short-term (up to 3 months): Store at 2–8°C (standard laboratory refrigerator). Keep vials sealed and protect from light and moisture.
  • Long-term (3–24 months): Store at −20°C. Seal vials with parafilm if stored near other volatile compounds. Allow vials to equilibrate to room temperature before opening to minimize moisture condensation.
  • Avoid: Repeated freeze-thaw cycles, exposure to moisture, direct light, and high temperatures.

Most lyophilized peptides are stable for 12–24 months when stored correctly at −20°C. Stability varies by compound — see our peptide storage guide for compound-specific recommendations.

My peptide arrived at room temperature. Is it still usable?+

Yes. Lyophilized (freeze-dried) research peptides are highly stable at room temperature during normal transit periods. Most peptides can tolerate several days or even a week at ambient temperature without significant degradation of the lyophilized cake, provided the vial seal remains intact and the compound was not exposed to moisture or light.

Upon receipt, place vials in appropriate storage (2–8°C for short-term, −20°C for long-term) as soon as possible. If you have concerns about transit conditions for a specific shipment, contact us and we can advise on whether analytical re-testing is warranted.

My vial looks nearly empty. Is the correct amount present?+

This is a very common observation — completely normal. Research peptides are dispensed in milligram quantities, which are extremely small amounts of material. A 5mg vial will appear as a very thin film, small disc, or barely visible white powder at the bottom of a standard vial. At these quantities, 5mg is roughly a few grains of fine salt by visual comparison.

The correct way to verify quantity is via the COA, not by visual inspection or weighing (vial tare weight variation exceeds peptide mass at these quantities). Quantity and purity for a given lot are recorded on that lot’s certificate of analysis. If you have a concern about a specific batch, contact us with your lot number and we can provide additional documentation.

🧬 Products & Compounds 8 Questions
What products are currently listed in the public catalog?+

The public catalog is maintained according to current product-review status. Available listings are organized by product class and documentation pathway rather than by medical or consumer-use claims.

  • Nutrition: wellness research materials and everyday health products with research material-facing labels and product documentation.
  • Research Products: research-use materials with RUO labeling, batch documentation, and COA access where applicable.
  • Documentation: COA verification, quality standards, storage and handling references, and support resources for current catalog items.

Use the research catalog or Peptide Finder to search currently available public listings.

Why do some educational pages discuss compounds that are not available for public purchase?+

Some pages are educational or analytical references and do not mean that a compound is available for public checkout. Public availability depends on current product-review status, documentation, labeling, and intended-use controls.

If an item is not listed in the live catalog or cannot be added to cart, it is not available for public purchase through the site.

What is the difference between BPC-157 and TB-500?+

BPC-157 and TB-500 are the two most studied tissue repair peptides in preclinical research, each working through distinct primary mechanisms:

  • BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound-157): 15-amino acid pentadecapeptide. Works primarily through VEGF upregulation, nitric oxide synthase (NOS) activation, and fibroblast signaling. Also studied for gastrointestinal mucosal protection.
  • TB-500 (Thymosin Beta-4 fragment): Active fragment of Thymosin Beta-4. Works primarily through G-actin sequestration and cell migration via the LKKTET actin-binding domain. Promotes cytoskeletal dynamics and cell motility.

The two peptides are often co-studied in recovery research protocols because their mechanisms are complementary rather than redundant. Available as individual compounds or as our BPC-157 + TB-500 Blend. See our BPC-157 vs TB-500 comparison for detailed mechanistic analysis.

How are availability and documentation decisions handled?+

Catalog availability is reviewed against product class, intended use, labeling, documentation, and current compliance status. Items can be withheld from public purchase while documentation, labeling, supplier records, or legal review are updated.

For institutional procurement or documentation questions, contact support before ordering so the request can be routed through the appropriate review path.
